Step 1. Connect your Samsung S8 to computer
Connect your Samsung S8 to computer using a USB cable. Download and run the dr.fone toolkit for Android program on your computer, then choose "Data Extraction (Damaged Device)".
Step 2. Choose the data types you want to recover
Then you can see some file types on the window. Please check these file types what you need, and then click "Next".
Next, you can see two icons, which are two fault types, respectively Touch does not work or cannot access the phone, and Black/broken screen. Please select a matching type based on your Samsung S8 fault status and click on it. Then it will lead you to the next step.
On the new window, choose the correct "Device Name" and "Device Model" for your Samsung S8. Currently this function only works for some Samsung devices in Galaxy S, Galaxy Note and Galaxy Tab series. Then click on "Next".
Please note that your choice is correct because the wrong information may lead to bricking your Samsung S8 or any other errors. If the information is correct, key in Confirm and click on Confirm button to continue.
Step 4. Enter Download Mode on the Samsung S8
Proceed to the next step, you will need to manually operate your Samsung S8 and enter the download mode. Specific steps are described below:
1.Power off the phone.
2.Press and hold Volume "-", "Home" and "Power" button on the phone.
3.Press "Volume +" button to enter download mode.
Step 5. Analyze the Samsung S8 phone
After Samsung S8 is set in Download mode, program will start to analyze the phone and download the recovery package.
Step 6. Preview and recover the data from broken Samsung
Finally, when the recovery package downloading is finished, you can see all the recoverable file types that are displayed in the form of a list on the window. Just as you think, you can click on them and preview one by one. Select the files that you need to restore, check the box in front of the file, and click "Recover".
