Step 1. Download the dr.fone toolkit for Android
To start, download and install the dr.fone toolkit for Android to your computer first. Then, run this software and select Data Recovery.
Next, connect your Samsung S8 to the program with the USB cable. At the same time, open USB debugging on your Samsung S8.
If your Android os version is 4.2.2 or above, there will be a pop up message on your Samsung S8, tap on OK to allow USB debugging.
Step 2. Select file types to scan
Once your Samsung S8 is detected, you need to click the file types to scan. By default, all the file types are checked. Since you just need to restore the call history, you can cancel other items and click "Next".
Step 3. Scan your Samsung S8 to find the lost data on it
In the new window, you need to select a scan mode. Please read the instructions carefully and tick a mode. Then click "Start". Here are two options, namely, "Standard mode" and "Advanced mode". My advice is Standard mode, which works faster.
Note: There might be a Superuser authorization appearing on your device during the scan. If you get it, click "Allow" to continue. If not, just skip this step.
Step 4. Preview and recover deleted data on Samsung S8
The program starts scanning your Samsung S8. At the end of this process, you can see all the scanned data displayed on the window. You can preview them one by one. Then, according to your wishes, tick the calls history and click "Recover".
